Hair transplant is a procedure done under local anesthesia, which is what makes it very safe. However as with any local anesthesia, there is a little discomfort of injection pain while the local anesthesia is being administered. At the Venkat Center it is our aim to make to process as pain free as possible To this end, we conducted a study in combination with our anesthetist to see if the benefits of controlled breathing such as pranayama can be used to reduce this injection pain. Our study shows that controlled breathing during injection increases patient comfort. Hence we practice it in every patient now.
