At The Venkat Center, we are proud to continue our commitment to bringing innovative, safe, and effective treatments in aesthetics by being the first in India to offer the latest in feminine rejuvenation: RenovaLase.
Feminine Rejuvenation is an umbrella term used to describe a range of aesthetic and functional procedures that correct and restore the optimum structural form of the vagina and surrounding tissues, including improved hydration and elasticity in the vaginal mucosa. Due to various causes ranging from childbirth to genetics, congenital disease and/or trauma, the labial and vulvar regions may over time become loose and lax.
Traditionally, treatment has been performed by gynaecologic surgeons and sometimes plastic surgeons. Recently, however, surgical procedures have been supplemented with new, non-invasive, energy-based systems, which is a welcome development for the many women wary of surgery due to the risk, expense, and downtime involved.
What are the factors affecting female pelvic structure?
Pregnancy, age, and gravity can all act negatively on the female pelvic structures stretching critical ligaments and fascia that hold the labia, the vagina, bladder, and rectum in their youthful position.
Consequently, the external labia can become saggy, stretched and unattractive, the bladder can start to leak with physical stress (incontinence), the vagina can become lax reducing sensitivity during sex, and the uterus, bladder, and rectum can start descending in the pelvis (prolapse) causing constant discomfort. The loss of vaginal lubrication common to many women can substantially interfere with sexual pleasure (painful intercourse).
All these changes can profoundly impact a woman’s self-esteem and overall enjoyment of life. Moreover, the treatment options till now were unsatisfactory or by surgery, associated with expenses, risk, and downtime.
Feminine rejuvenation includes non-surgical procedures to address these undesirable cosmetic and functional changes. The Venkat Center is introducing these feminine rejuvenation methods, which are performed by Dr Jayashree Venkataram, an expert in this field.
How does it work?
At our centre, these services are offered through Fotona Ebiyum Yag Lasers– noninvasive treatments through Laser devices which correct and restore the optimum structural form of the vagina and surrounding genital tissues, including improved hydration, elasticity and tightening in the vaginal mucosa. These treatments together are part of Feminine Rejuvenation.
The treatments offered are:
- Incontilase for treatment of urinary incontinence and early uterine prolapse,
- Intimalase, and
- Renovalase for female sexual satisfaction.
The Benefits of these Lasers in Gynaecology Include:
- Minimally invasive treatments
- Controlled coagulation
- Greater patient comfort, less downtime, and quicker healing
- A hemostatic effect with simultaneous disinfection
- Many treatments do not require anaesthesia
- High-precision, tissue-selective treatments
- Easy access to difficult-to-reach areas
Am I a good candidate for feminine rejuvenation?
We will need to perform a thorough evaluation before determining if the treatment would be beneficial in your specific situation. However, it is generally a good option for the women with:
- Vaginal laxity
- Not satisfied with the appearance of their labia
- Orgasmic problems or sexual dissatisfaction
- Urinary incontinence
- Pelvic prolapses, such as fallen bladder or rectum
- Vaginal dryness
- Any age, with or without children
- Mild to moderate “leaky bladder” (stress incontinence)
- Vaginal dryness
- Atrophic vaginitis due to menopause
Does the treatment hurt?
No, most patients describe the process as very comfortable. Constant monitoring of tissue temperature and instant, precise adjustments, allow the provider to achieve optimal results, without discomfort. In addition, Dr. Jayashree Venkataram has performed over 1000 of these procedures without a twitch.
How long does the procedure take?
The treatment usually takes about 30 minutes.
How many treatments are needed?
We will need to evaluate before recommending a specific procedure or treatment schedule. Usually, two sessions are recommended to alleviate mild or even moderate stress urinary incontinence. For vaginal tightening, two sessions are recommended. However, based on the individual, the number of sessions may vary.
How much recovery time should I expect?
There is no downtime and essentially no recovery time. It is a non-invasive procedure with no discharge, odour, or other unpleasant side effects. No special pre-op preparation or post-op precautions are necessary. Patients can immediately return to their normal activities.
Is the treatment safe?
The treatment is safe without any undesirable complications associated with other methods.
When can the treatment be performed after delivery?
Can safely be performed six weeks after childbirth and in between pregnancies.
Will I have scars?
No, this is a non-invasive procedure with no scars.
