Dr. Mihir Shankar is a distinguished, young Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon, hair transplant surgeon with a keen interest in Aesthetic surgery and Trichology.
He has completed his under-graduation from K.S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore.(RGUHS)
He completed his post graduation from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi
(KAHER)
It was during his Post graduation, he developed a keen interest in Plastic and reconstructive surgery where he trained under Dr Rajesh Powar.
He later went on to do his super speciality training in his dream branch of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery from the prestigious St John’s medical College, Bangalore.
He has been trained in the following sub specialties:
Hair transplantation.
He has received a fellowship of training under the guidance of Dr Venkataram Mysore and Dr Aniketh Venkataram at Venkat centre which have been the pioneers in Hair transplantation in India with 2 decades of experience.
He has been a part of the team for over 75 cases of hair transplantation. He is well versed with FUE technique and has research ideas to refine techniques of implantation which are in the process to be published.
Reconstruction: Trauma, Burns, Microvascular, Oncoplasty.
He has been trained in trauma reconstruction with respect to Facial trauma, Hand trauma, Pediatric trauma, Burns injuries in St John’s Bangalore under the guidance of Dr Vijay Joseph and Dr Sunder Raj Ellur.
He has been trained in Onco Reconstruction at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer hospital, Hyderabad under the guidance of Dr Mukunda Reddy, Dr Ram Babu.
He visited Ganga Hospital Coimbatore to attend the 5 day micro vascular hands on workshop under Dr Raja Sabapathy, Dr Hari Venkataraman.
Cleft Surgery.
He has completed Smile Train Fellowship under the guidance of Dr Mukunda Reddy in Basavatarakam Indo American hospital in Hyderabad.
Aesthetic Surgery.
He has a keen interest in Aesthetic surgery and has trained under guidance of Dr Aniketh Venkataram. He has attended workshops and conferences to update his knowledge on various aesthetic procedures like Liposuction, body contouring, Rhinoplasty, Breast Reduction and Augmentation, Fat Grafting, Non surgical Aesthetic procedures like Botox, Dermal fillers, PRP
